dc.description.abstractA method for the immobilization of bioactive molecules within a polymer substrate to be employed as an oral drug delivery system is provided. A water insoluble carrier matrix can be provided that is water swellable, and biologically active agents can be incorporated. The matrix can be a macromolecular network synthesized by gamma radiation at temperatures between −78 degrees Celsius to a boiling point of a component elected for polymerization.
