The deuteron optical potential in the adiabatic approximation

Abstract

The deformation of the deuteron in the presence of a target nucleus is studied in the adiabatic approximation. Its effect on the deuteron optical potential is discussed. The contribution of deuteron break-up to this potential is also calculated.La deformación del deuterón en presencia de un núcleo diana se estudia en la aproximación adiabática. Se discute su efecto sobre el potencial óptico del deuterón. También se calcula la contribución de la ruptura del deuterón a este potencial.
