The plastic deformation of long range ordered 18R martensitic single crystals of Cu-Zn-Al alloys. 1. Macroscopic properties

Abstract

Single crystals of 18R martensite, which were stress induced by compression from Beta phase single crystals, were deformed in compression at room temperature. Irreversible slip was observed, which was retained after unloading and after retransforming to the Beta phase.
