Resumen
A relation between the pressure (P) and the volume (V) of solids was obtained by Murnaghan by assuming that the isothermal bulk modulus (3) varies linearly with P. The equation was derived for isothermal conditions but in order to treat, e.g. the thermal expansivity (a) at high P, it is necessary to let its parameters vary with temperature (T). We study the thermodynamic properties of the most general form of the Murnaghan equation.
