Abstract

Weld deffects in mild or low alloy steels. Should introduce by saying that defects can be introduced as the fault of operator technique, weld sfettings, faulty equipment, wrong choice of equipment. First two are most usual, third growing with automatic welding. Aim should be to produce defect free welds, which means careful control at all stages i.e. use of detailed records (allocate responsibility), inspection.
