Resumen

During the last few years, the technique of Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) has emerged as one of the most widely used analytical techniques for obtaining the chemical composition of solid surfaces. A high sensitivity for chemical analysis in the 5—20 A region near the surface, a rapid data acquisition speed, and the ability to detect all elements above He mark the basic advantages of this technique. The Auger spectrum provides reliable quantitative in formation and in many cases the status of chemical bonding.
