Scientific sessions on uranium resources and possibilities

Abstract

At the beginning of 1960 the Raw Materials Direction of the National Atomic Energy Commission considered the advisability of convening an international Symposium for the purpose of discussing the world’s uranium resources and possibilities, in order to: a) complete partial data published or submitted (on uranium production, reserves and demand) by different producer or consumer countries; b) check the amounts stated in some official and / or unofficial reports, which sometimes did not agree; c) compare the methods adopted for evaluating deposits and estimating reserves; d) correlate the systems and standards used to express them.
