Resumen
Experimental measured cross sections for the In (d,xn) Sn 113 reaotion by irradiation of natural indium with deuterons are reported. A staoked foil arrangement was used and the exoitation function in the range between 27.5 MeV and the Coulomb threshold was obtained. Total flux measurements were performed with aluminium monitor foils. The Sn 113 oontent was determined measuring the gamma rays emited by the daughter, in equilibrium. The overall error in absolute cross sections was estimated as ± 20%. The exoitation function for the In 113m (d, 2n) Sn 113 reaction was comparad with Lange and Mûnzel semiempirical values. Position, shape and peak’s half width agrees with these prediotions, but the máximum of the experimental curve is higher than the predicted. This divergency can possibly be explained because a proton magic number nucleus is built. The yield of the conventional Sn 113 (n,y) Sn 113 reactor production method and the studied accelerator yield were critically confronted and it was shown that the deuteron product will be prefered because higher relative yields and a carrier-free Sn 113 will be obtained.
