The period covered by this report is outstanding because of the spectacular progress made in the construction of the TANDAR facility. In January 1980, the excaoation work had just started; by December 1981 the colurnn structure was standing in the interior of the 35 m high pressure vessel and the inyector was being readied at its definitive location 56
m above ground.
