The bragg lineshapes in time-of-flight neutron powder spectroscopy

Abstract

A four-parameter function is proposed to describe the position, shape and integrated intensity of the Bragg peaks in a powder neutron time-of-flight diffraction spectrum. The wavelength dependence of the parameters is discussed in terms of geometry and time uncertainties. The proposed function and the variation of its parameters along the time scale are compared with experimental results.
