Measurement of the Instrument Response Function in the Single Photoelectron Technique

Abstract

This paper describes a simple method for directly measuring R(t) by exploiting the short duration of Cherenkov radiation generated by beta particles—emitted by a 32P radioactive source—as they pass through a conical Plexiglas radiator (1 mm thick).
