Selection of a minimum fracturation area by means of geotastics for emplacement of subsurface civil Works of a nuclear repository in crystalline rock

Abstract

To determine the most appropiate zone for the emplacement of a nuclear repository, the National Atomic Energy Commission made an agreement with the Institute of Minig Research of the National University of San Juan. As a result a sector of about 12 km2 was preselected in Sierra del Medio (Chubut, Argentina) so as to perfom the corresponding detailed análisis.
