On a complete set of functions associated with a peculiar eigenvalue problem

Abstract

Consideration of the eigenvalue problem associated with a particle in the potential V (x) = F |x'| leads to a complete set of functions in the interval ( - ∞, ∞ ) derived from the Airy function. Completeness and orthogonality relations give properties for the Airy function not previously noted in the literature.
