Resumen
A rapid atomic absorptíon procedure for the determinatíon of microcomponent elements (aluminum, antimony, arsenic, cobalt, lead, tin, and vanadium) in steels by discrete sample nebulization is described. Direct injection of microsamples was employed for metallic elements. Detection limits were in the range 0.005% 0.0005%. Iron matrix interferences were compensated for by means of background correction and the method of standard additions. A branched capillary, which permitted the simultaneous nebulization of a carrier stream of sodium borohydride solution and a microsample volume, was tested to enhance the sensitivity in the determination of arsenic.
