| dc.description.abstract | The reaction of chlorine with carbon surfaces has been studied by thermogravimetric techniques. The carbon samples increase in mass at a rate which increases with sample mass. This effect is interpreted as being due to the adsorption of the HCl formed by the reaction of chlorine with chemically bound hydrogen. | |
