Resumen
This work describes the synthesis of an Al2O3-Ni-Al2NiO4-NiO composite. The composite is obtained in two-steps. At the first step, powders of Al, Ni and C are mechanically mixed and compressed as pellets. At the second step, the pellets are thermally treated. The second step consists in two consecutive thermal treatments. An Al2O3-Al2NiO4 mixture is obtained in air at 1400°C for 12 h. After that, an Al2O3-Ni-Al2NiO4-NiO composite is obtained in H2/Ar at 900°C for 8 h. The experimental conditions are selected to obtain both a stable matrix and a reactive metal in the final composite.
